The bad WiFi signal (WiFi coverage) in your home or office may not be an insurmountable problem

We meet customers who need to improve the quality of their WiFi signal almost every day. The reason is simple, the coverage is not enough. The reason behind this can be a number of things. From the essentials to the little things that can greatly decrease the effectivness of signal transmission.

If you received a device from your ISP called a router, you need to place it correctly in the room. Choosing the right place is key. Try to place the router in the center of the house, apartment, office for the best possible coverage of the WiFi signal. In the selected room, install the device in higher places (at the level of an adult's head). If the router has omnidirectional antennas, shape them into an imaginary letter V. Metal, thick walls, conductive objects, appliances and other electronics can contribute to signal interference. Do not place the router in a cabinet, wardrobe or pantry, an enclosed space greatly complicates the signal propagation and dampens it.

If you have selected the ideal location, check the quality of the coverage. Although you think you've chosen the ideal location, you don't have enough WiFi in all areas. It certainly doesn't mean you have the wrong router. The problem may be the number and quality of antennas.

The number of antennas and their location is one of the most important factors in the quality of coverage. The times when there were one or two antennas on the router are gone. Nowadays, WiFi networks are very dense and it is almost impossible to transmit a signal on different frequency channels. The stability and speed of the connection will also be improved by choosing higher quality antennas. You can have different antennas on one router. The key parameter in this case is the antenna tuning and its gain. These parameters affect the range of the antenna or antenna system. Today's technologies make it possible to broadcast WiFi on two different frequency bands 2.4 and 5 GHz. Due to the occupancy of overlapping 13 WiFi channels, it is now more beneficial to broadcast in the 5 GHz band, provided that this band is supported by the router.

When choosing an antenna, we always advise you to monitor the output antenna graphs. The most important of these is the VSWR graph, or the graph of parameter S11, from which the VSWR can be calculated. In general, VSWR indicates the standing wave ratio, ie it maps the disparity between the impedances that you measure at the input terminals of the antenna and at the input of the RF system (transmitter / receiver), where 1: 1 (50/75 Ω) is the ideal value. This parameter indicates that the antenna is tuned in if the required VSWR frequency is less than 2: 1 and the antenna can be considered adapted to receive the signal. If the VSWR is less than 1.5: 1, the antenna can in practice be considered usable for transmission, higher requirements are usually placed on the transmitting antennas. The graph below serves as an example of an antenna tuned to the 2.4 and 5 GHz frequency bands.

Replacing the antenna on the router is no problem. WiFi routers are usually equipped with reverse SMA connectors marked SMA – RP (f-pin). Replacing the antenna will definitely not damage the router or void the device warranty. We have prepared several types of antennas for you, which we would recommend.

In the offer you will find the whole family of omnidirectional WiFi antennas called SRPK. For example, indoor antenna with joint AW-A2458G-SRPK. Or the popular antenna, which is optimized for the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands, called AW-A2458G-SRPK2. The new product is the AW-A2458G-FSRPK-B antenna. The entire portfolio of these WiFi antennas is characterized by high quality production and sufficient gain for normal use.

We have been manufacturing antennas and HF cable adaptors for 26 years. We focus mainly on the quality of the production process so that our products meet customer requirements.
