SPS986 Model is specially designed for terrain measurements at construction sites. The antenna is used by building surveyors to measure in rugged and large areas. The design is a combination of unprecedented strength and durability in a very compact fit. Thanks to dynamic tilt properties, it enables more efficient data collection in less accessible locations, for example on steep slopes, thus helping to make digital terrain models easier and more accurate. The SPS986 can also be used in rover mode or as a reference station for other GNSS applications, including GNSS construction machinery management. It can be easily attached to the roof of a car to check the height, position and workflow even under the most difficult conditions. The rugged receiver can withstand high vibrations to which it gets exposed, for example, when mounted on a car, without the risk of damage.
With Trimble's SPS field software, you can:
► Determine cut/fill on a range pole, utility vehicle, or truck
► Record tilt data when taking measurements
► Stake out site or road features, utilities, daylight lines and side slopes
► Measure progress and calculate material stockpile volumes
► Carry out as–built measurements, grade checks and laid material thickness checks
Initial site work and topo can even be done base station free using satellite delivered GNSS corrections to the rover. The Trimble GNSS Status App can be used to quickly check the health and status of the receiver using your smartphone. If more detail is needed, Trimble Web UI can be accessed over Wi-Fi. With the onboard sensor, users can now see the verticality of the receiver while viewing the field controller software, instead of needing to focus on the rod bubble. SPS Field Controller Software stores the verticality data when recording points. Especially in the dark, work more efficiently and save time getting the job done.
The SPS986 can also serve as a powerful site base station, using integrated Wi-Fi or optional radio to send and receive corrections for rover or machine control work.
With Trimble’s latest Maxwell™ technology, the SPS986 GNSS Smart Antenna can “see” more GNSS constellations and signals than traditional GPS, so you can expect greater accuracy in more challenging conditions such as under tree canopy and in congested construction sites.
