Industrial Router Robustel R1520e
The Robustel R1520e Global is an industrial 4G/LTE VPN router designed for OEMs, system integrators, and fleet managers. The device builds on the foundation of the proven, globally certified R1520 Global platform, taking it to the next level by introducing a hybrid SIM architecture. By combining a classic physical SIM card slot (2FF) with an integrated eSIM chip (MFF2), it delivers maximum flexibility for worldwide deployment.
Typical Use Cases
- In-Vehicle Connectivity: Secure on-board 4G LTE connection with a separate public Wi-Fi network for passengers and a protected channel for vehicle technical systems. Real-time location tracking.
- Global IoT and OEM Integration: Machine builders exporting their equipment worldwide can equip the router with a single universal eSIM profile and activate a specific carrier based on the final destination country.
- Global Retail Stores and Branches: The R1520e Global serves as primary or backup LTE connectivity for retail stores, branch offices, kiosks, and distributed enterprise locations.
SIM Architecture
The device features one standard 2FF SIM card slot and an integrated eSIM chip (MFF2). It supports the GSMA SGP.22 specification for remote profile downloading, activation, and deletion (typically up to 8 profiles per device).
Connectivity Options
For industrial integration, the R1520e Global offers 5× 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports, configurable as 5× LAN or 1× WAN + 4× LAN, plus RS-232, RS-485, 1× DI, 1× DO, 1× analog input, Wi-Fi, GNSS, and USB.
Automotive E-mark Certification
The device meets strict international standards (including automotive E-mark certification) for installation in passenger cars, trucks, and buses. Combined with the built-in GNSS module (GPS/GLONASS), it represents an ideal IoT hub for telematics systems and precise vehicle tracking.
RobustOS Operating System
It offers advanced networking features such as VPN tunnels (IPsec, OpenVPN, GRE, L2TP, PPTP, DMVPN), a built-in firewall, smart roaming, and the ability to upload custom user applications (SDK).
Cloud Service (RCMS)
Operation and management are simplified using the RCMS (Robustel Cloud Manager Service) cloud platform. This service allows for centralized monitoring, configuration, data collection, and remote updates of a large number of devices, thereby minimizing operational overhead costs.
