Industrial 5G router Robustel R5020-A with Wi-Fi
Robustel R5020-A is a next-generation industrial router with 5G support and automatic backup to 4G/3G. The device uses the Linux-based RobustOS operating system. This system is designed for maximum stability in industrial environments and offers a wide range of easily configurable network protocols.
5G router R5020 use cases
- Vehicular 5G Hub: Secure 5G connectivity as a backbone for in-vehicle systems and Wi-Fi for passengers. E-mark, GNSS and ACC (ignition sensor) certifications facilitate fleet deployment. Updates and diagnostics can be managed centrally.
- Primary and backup connectivity (failover): 5G as a main line or automatic backup in the event of an outage to keep services available. Works with Ethernet and Wi-Fi and devices can be centrally monitored and updated.
- High-speed Industrial IoT: Fast 5G connectivity for robotics, video, telemetry and other data-intensive processes in plants. Reduce deployment time compared to fiber optic deployments and manage security and updates at scale.
Intelligent management and security in the cloud
A key benefit is integration with the cloud-based RCMS (Robustel Cloud Manager Service) platform. This platform extends the operator's ability to monitor, manage and diagnose network devices, reducing operational costs when managing multiple routers.
GNSS connectivity and positioning
The IoT router is equipped with Dual Band Wi-Fi technology (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) for stable wireless Internet sharing. For wired connectivity, 4× gigabit Ethernet ports are available. The router also supports communication via RS-232 and RS-485 serial interfaces and is equipped with two SIM card slots for maximum connection redundancy. A GNSS module for precise positioning is also included.

With its robust metal design and IP30 protection rating, the R5020-A is an ideal choice for harsh environments where resistance to dust and mechanical damage is required. Installation flexibility is enhanced by the option of wall or DIN rail mounting.

E-Mark certification for use in vehicles
The Robustel R5020 router has achieved E-Mark certification for in-vehicle use. This is a mandatory safety certification for motor vehicles, systems, components and technical parts of member countries in accordance with European Union directives. With its 5G technology, the router offers a simple and effective solution for increasing the speed of Internet connections using Wi-Fi technology. This makes it ideal for vehicles that carry passengers. The CCTV (Closed-circuit television) system enables CCTV surveillance of the area and the display of camera footage on monitors in Full HD resolution. This version of the R5020-A is equipped with a vehicle ignition sensor that saves the vehicle's battery when the engine is in the off state (ACC - Ignition and flameout detection).
Reliable backup and VPN
The router can be configured for automatic failover. Ethernet or Wi-Fi can serve as the primary internet source, and in the event of a failure, the device will instantly switch to a 5G/4G network. Robust IPsec, DMVPN and OpenVPN protocols are available for secure connectivity.
