Robustel router R5020-B with 5G technology
Robustel R5020 is a router with support for 5G / 4G / 3G mobile networks. A great example of a router from the new 5000 series is the new R5020. This rugged device offers state-of-the-art connectivity and is also designed to ensure connectivity to Internet of Things applications. It uses the RobustOS operating system, which is based on Linux and is designed for use in Robustel devices. This system contains network functions and protocols that can be easily configured. It therefore provides customers with excellent user comfort.
Another advantage is the RCMS platform. Designed to work with RobustOS, RCMS uncovers the true potential of Robustel products and expands the operator's capabilities in monitoring, managing and diagnosing network devices, thus minimizing operational cost.
The cellular connection is provided by the Quectel RG500Q-AE module, which can operate in the frequency range 0 - 6 GHz and supports a wider range of 5G bands. The maximum speed in the downlink direction climbs up to 2.5 Gbps, in the uplink direction up to 900 Mbps. Can be powered by POE PD.
The 5G SIM card router is equipped with two SIM slots is equipped with many other technologies, such as GNSS positioning or Internet connection sharing using Dual Band - WiFi technology (2.412 - 2.472 / 5.15 - 5.825 GHz). At the speeds offered by 5G technology, 4x Gigabit Ethernet ports are also included. The router also supports communication via the RS-232 or RS-485 serial interface.
Router R5020 was designed for:
In-vehicle applications: Whether it is passenger wifi, CCTV debrief, ticketing or a similar onboard” requirement, the R5020 offers a simple and effective solution to increase internet speeds and future-proof current installations. The R5020 has achieved E-Mark certification for in-vehicle use, and supports GNSS positioning. A version with vehicle ignition sensing is available to protect vehicle batteries when the engine is off.
Broadband Failover: The R5020 can be configured to use Ethernet or Wifi as primary internet and failover to 4G/5G in the event of an outage. This can help to provide resilience to outlets such as shops and small offices at a reasonable cost, and provide sufficient bandwidth for multiple users. IPSEC, DMVPN and Open VPN protocols can be used for connections into core networks.
Primary Broadband: Cellular networks can now provide unlimited 5G tariffs at very reasonable prices, offering hundreds of Mbps internet over the air. For many, a chance to cut the cables and use a wireless internet connection can be technically or commercially favourable.
