Robustel EG5100 Industrial Gateway (EG5100-A2CCA-4L-A06GL)
The Robustel EG5100 industrial gateway represents a new generation of IoT devices focused on Edge Computing. Unlike conventional systems, it processes information locally and sends only relevant data to the cloud. This saves storage capacity and data transmission resources while accelerating the response time of the entire system.
Examples of EG5100 Applications
- Retrofitting and protocol bridging: Enables the aggregation of RS-485 devices, execution of containerised connectors, data normalisation and storage, and secure transmission via LTE or Ethernet to SCADA or cloud systems.
- Battery storage and electric vehicle charging: Enables reading BMS and charger status via the optional CAN bus, combining serial sensors with data from energy meters and inverters, and securely connecting Edge logic to the EMS system.
- Heavy industrial machinery: Connects machine control units via CAN bus with additional sensors over Ethernet or RS-485, while ensuring edge data processing and secure transmission to maintenance systems.
Advanced Connectivity and Software Environment
Reliable mobile connectivity across 2G/3G/4G networks is provided by the full Debian 11 (Bullseye) operating system. It offers a wide range of applications designed for the ARMv7 architecture (compatible with Raspberry Pi). Thanks to the integrated Docker environment, applications can be easily and securely isolated regardless of the platform used.
The device runs the RobustOS Pro operating system with an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI). This system provides an enhanced level of cybersecurity and a broad range of features, including Smart Roaming and remote management via SMS. Supported '>VPN protocols ensure secure data flows and a secure network connection.
Hardware Specifications and Remote Management
With an ARM Cortex-A7 processor (792 MHz), 512 MB of RAM, and 8 GB of eMMC storage, the EG5100 gateway delivers high performance. The device reliably combines the functionality of a mobile router and an industrial embedded computer in one unit.
The RCMS (Robustel Cloud Manager Service) platform is available free of charge for users, providing comprehensive monitoring and remote configuration of the device.
