Robustel Gateway EG5100 (EG5100-A2ACA-4L-A06GL)
The Robustel EG5100 gateway is an industrial gateway with high computing performance directly at the device side (Edge Computing). Data processing takes place locally on the device, eliminating the barriers associated with transferring large volumes of information to cloud storage. Instead of sending all data to the cloud for demanding processing, the Smart Edge Gateway EG5100 can process the data internally thanks to its powerful processor and then forwards only relevant information.
Examples of EG5100 Applications
- Retrofitting and protocol bridging: Enables the aggregation of RS-485 devices, execution of containerised connectors, data normalisation and storage, and secure transmission via LTE or Ethernet to SCADA or cloud systems.
- Battery storage and electric vehicle charging: Enables reading BMS and charger status via the optional CAN bus, combining serial sensors with data from energy meters and inverters, and securely connecting Edge logic to the EMS system.
- Heavy industrial machinery: Connects machine control units via CAN bus with additional sensors over Ethernet or RS-485, while ensuring edge data processing and secure transmission to maintenance systems.
Key Features and Operating System
The Robustel EG5100 industrial gateway provides mobile connectivity across global 4G/3G/2G networks. It is equipped with the full Debian 11 (Bullseye) operating system, which supports thousands of existing and new applications for the ARMv7 architecture (compatible with Raspberry Pi). Docker software support for container management ensures easy application isolation in a Linux environment.
The device uses the RobustOS Pro operating system with an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) for easy application deployment, enhanced cybersecurity, and a comprehensive range of software features, including Smart Roaming, remote control via SMS, and more. '>VPN support ensures secure internet connectivity and reliable protection of data transmission.
Hardware and Applications
The Robustel EG5100 is equipped with an ARM Cortex-A7 processor running at 792 MHz, 512 MB of RAM, and 8 GB of eMMC flash memory. Thanks to these specifications, it serves as an ideal combination of a mobile router and an embedded PC for versatile use in industrial environments.
A free RCMS (Robustel Cloud Manager Service) cloud platform is available for the device, enabling convenient monitoring, management, and remote configuration of Robustel devices.
