An electric vehicle with a 58 kWh battery (e.g., VW ID.3) connected to a 50 kW DC charging station can charge from 20% to 70% capacity in just 30 minutes. With more powerful models, the charging time is even shorter.
Charging is faster because there is no need to convert electricity from alternating current (AC) to direct current (DC) before storage in the battery. The battery is charged directly with DC power.
Control, identification, and Station safety
